Now the managing director for two successful glazier companies Economy Glass and Thermawood, my journey in expanding and strengthening businesses is full of wisdom and advice that will help you with your trade business.

HOW I TRANSFORMED MY BUSINESS

When I started at Economy Glass 7 years ago the business was in turmoil with little to no leadership or direction. I saw the opportunity to rebuild from the ground up and turn Economy Glass into a thriving enterprise. With the help of a few close mentors and friends, a role I am now passionate about playing for you, I dissected the business piece by piece and devised plans to get it in the green—working out what could be improved and implementing what needed to be learned and changed. After only 18 months of work, the owner of Economy Glass offered me the opportunity to buy the business off him and while I didn’t have a dollar to my name after spending the years before travelling the world (and cleaning out my savings) I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy the business by negoitiatiing a vendor finance.

When I asked the owner why he would offer me such an amazing opportunity, his answer was simple: “Since the day you walked into this business you have run it with all your heart. From the first minute you have been running the business like you own it. It is time for me to enjoy my retirement but I don't want to close the doors—I want to reward you for your efforts & thank you for all you have done. Your next adventure starts here.” ding
